LUKE INDIA FLASHES BACK TO LAST SEASON’S HAUTEST TREND AND LET’S YOU IN ON HOW TO GET AWAY WITH ALL RED OUTFITS.

I am going to start off by letting you know that red is one of the colours I looked down on the most. Yes, and here I am all dressed up in red, from head to toe (literally). Somehow this colour just managed to grow on me without me even realising it and this new found “undying love” occurred before red actually became a haute thang.

This autumn winter season we saw designers, Alexandra McQueen, Givenchy, Victoria Beckham, Dolce & Gabanna and Fendi, to name a few, fill the runway with models draped in this colour from head to toe. Thank you to the aforementioned brands for indirectly playing a part in increasing my interest in this colour.

The look featured in this post was initially created for sharing on Christmas but with the buzz created around red being “the new black”, I decided to persuade you into trying your hand at this all red thing. Today I share with you:

THREE SIMPLE WAYS TO CREATING AN ALL RED ENSEMBLE
1. Wear Only One Shade Of Red

This is by far the most effective direction to go – allowing you to play around more with different fabrics and textures.

2. Mix Different Shades Of Red

With any tonal (one coloured) outfit, mixing pieces in different shades of your selected colour is the easiest way to get away with it. Combining different shades of a colour and layering is also great to add some dimension.

3. Pair Red Prints With Red Solids

For a more “toned down” take on this trend, mixing prints with solids is the way to go. Taking your body shape into consideration, you’d want to incorporate the print on the area you want to accentuate.

Red is a very bold colour and can be a little intimidating for many but believe me, it is a colour you’ll love wearing. To gradually transition into wearing red on red, start small by donning jewellery or accessories in the colour and then moving on to tops and bottoms – and then going full on with one of the three ways I shared.

If by any chance you slay this trend, feel free to share your pictures with me on social media using the hashtag #OOTD4LUKEINDIA. Also, if you like what you read today, subscribe to my website for fresh new content in your inbox every week.
